I’ve been working on Marooned on Planet EARTH this past week and have nearly 100 pages rewritten. I’ve changed the way a few things will happen, and am fleshing it out a bit more than I did. Kind of rushed a few parts. Not a good idea most of the time. Or at any time. Readers like to see how you get from one point to another. And it better be good!
I am hoping I don’t hit any major writer’s blocks as I do the rewrite. I’d like to have this finished within a very short time. My goal is to have all my works in progress finished and formated for the Kindle and Mobipocket as well as PDF by the end of the year, if not sooner. So that’s a big ambition as I have several books in the works right now.
I’m trying not to think of new stories as I do this, but the ideas don’t just shut up and go away. Which I suppose is a good thing in the long run.
This story is going to be a bit more complicated than I had at first intended it to be. The characters kind of took over and told me that this is a family that won’t be able to work out their problems all nice and tidy. Which I knew . . . just didn’t know, at the time, how messed up it all was for them. I do now, and it’s going to take a couple of books to straighten it out for them, I think. We’ll see.
I was hesitant to write it the way it’s working out now. But after checking out some of the Young Adult stuff out there now, I decided to go for it. Some of it is based on my own experiences in high school. Not always the fun time you expect it to be. If I could go back and be the person I am now, maybe it would have been different. . . well, there’s no doubt it would be! I am no longer the rug and/or mouse I used to be back then.
Okay, I’ll stop yakking now. Get back to it.
Until tomorrow, keep safe and keep reading!
